During the summer on beautiful Lake Alice fishing and boating are favorites among our many welcome visitors to the Tomahawk area. There are also endless ATV trails that are accessible directly from our cottages. These ATV trails connect with several of the surrounding counties for endless miles of riding fun. You also do not want to miss the fun-filled Kwahamot Water Ski Show or catch a local race at our very own Tomahawk Speed Way. Although these activities attract many to this peaceful area during the summer, there are plenty of things to do all year round in Tomahawk, WI.
The fall boasts breath taking autumn foliage that people come from miles around to view. The hunting in our rural communities is some of the finest in the state also. For the “wild at heart” the Annual Tomahawk Fall Ride attracts motorcycle enthusiasts state wide raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
In the winter months Tomahawk still has an abundance of outdoor activities with miles of snowmobiling trails, ice fishing galore, and even an Alice in Winterland Ice Fishing Derby hosted on Lake Alice!
The city of Tomahawk is a short 5 miles to the West of Lake Alice. Close enough for convenience but far enough away to feel at peace with your surroundings. The city of Tomahawk boasts great small business shopping, parks, dining, an indoor ice arena, a dog park, and much more!
This wonderful little bar/restaurant sits directly across the street from our vacation cottages. It is located right on Lake Alice and has a lovely little outdoor seating area. This fun spot to eat and enjoy your favorite beverage also has its very own boat landing available for public use. Besides a fantastic new menu they offer great drink specials. If you are in the mood for a quick snack they even offer ice cream!
This place is super convenient to the Tomahawk Resort (directly across the street). Even if it were not that convenient to our homey cottages we still feel it is worthy of a stop. With all of the daily specials, game themed activities, and outdoor fun, this place is really worth checking out!
Just another “hop, skip, and a jump away” is another noteworthy local spot that is a great place to stop called the River’s Edge Bar & Grill. This great little place is definitely within walking distance from our cottages being located just across the bridge and clocking in at only a tenth of a mile away. The River’s Edge is open 7 days a week, offers a full menu, and also has a full-service bar for those that like to imbibe. Their menu is reasonably priced offering daily specials as well. Not only are the prices great but the food is awesome to boot! Their Friday night fish fry is known as “one of the best fish fries in the area” by the locals. They also have tons of indoor seating to accommodate you and your group.
Being located on the water shores they also offer gas for sale for area boaters. This place really aims to please!
Just slightly further away from our cozy cottages at approximately 1.3 miles away is Sure Wood Forest Bar & Grill. This bar and grill is located directly on the shores of Lake Alice with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The property is beautiful and relaxing to visit. Their bar and restaurant offer very reasonably priced food and beverage options. The locals insist that the food is always great and the breakfasts “are beyond awesome”.
Located right next store to Sure Wood Forest is a public boat launch that offers boat rentals, pontoon boats, fishing boats, row boats, canoes, and more.
Pine Point Resort Bar & Grill is located on the peaceful Lake Alice shores and is right next door to the Sure Wood Forest Property which also makes this a convenient food or beverage stop when staying at one of our vacation cottages.. This restaurant is set back in a gorgeous setting of pine trees on the lake shore. Their full service bar and grill is open 7 days a week. The surrounding areas offer many great outdoor activities like boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, and much more. Hope to see you soon!
